The present invention describes a process to prepare crystalline zeolites and particularly describes a method to obtain zeolite P and faujasite zeolite from mineral carbon, more particularly from the product of the combustion of said realized carbon to high temperature. The process is characterized in that the reaction is carried out in hydrothermal conditions employing as an aluminum and silicon source the content in the mineral carbon, maintaining an alkaline pH to favor the crystalization of the zeolites through the addition of an alkaline compound such as sodium hydroxide. The resulting product of the mineral carbon zeolitization calcined at high temperature, when a metal such as copper is incorporated, presenting catalytic properties for the conversion of the nitrogen oxides.
