The present invention provides a post-unfolding stent structure (1) which maintains a human body vessel aperture. The stent structure (1) comprises a plurality of closed and generally circular rings (2). Each ring (2) plane is generally parallel to the plane of an adjacent ring (2). The rings generally share a longitudinal axle which is perpendicular to the plane of every ring (2), and at least two of the rings are spaced apart from each other. The stent structure (1) further includes a plurality of structures which form stringers (4T, 4B, 4R, 4L), at at least one of said stringers being fixedly connected to at least two of the rings (2), andted to maintain an essentially uniform shape in the absence of the generally circular plurality of rings (2).
