Abstract

Se proporciona un artículo absorbente para absorber fluidos del cuerpo teniendo un nucleo absorbente colocado entre una cubierta permeable al fluido y un separador impermeable al fluido. El nucleo absorbente incluye un eje de flexion longitudinal central el cual se extiende virtualmente a la longitud del nucleo absorbente. El eje longitudinal central divide generalmente el nucleo absorbente en los miembros longitudinales primero y segundo teniendo un límite exterior y en donde el primer miembro tiene un segundo eje de flexion y el segundo miembro tiene un tercer eje de flexion. Flanqueando el límite exterior de los miembros primero y segundo están un tercer y un cuarto miembros absorbentes longitudinales, respectivamente. Los miembros absorbentes tercero y cuarto están colocados de manera que, cuando el artículo absorbente es sometido a fuerzas compresivas laterales, los miembros primero y segundo preferentemente se doblan convexamente hacia arriba, y dicho nucleo absorbente generalmente adquiere una configuracion en forma de "W".
