The present invention discloses an optical filter assembly comprising two optical filter elements including a transparent substrate, and an optical coating which typically comprises at least two superposed fine optical films. The coating defines a first drawn area and a second surrounding area which encompasses the first area. The first area substantially comprises the same optical transmittance characteristics as the second area, and a different optical reflectance characteristics on at least a visible spectrum portion. The difference between the first and second areas is visually perceptible when looked from a side of the optical filter assembly, being substantially imperceptible when looked from the opposite side thereof. As a result, a colored logotype or drawing is only visible when looked from one side of said filter assembly. The invention also discloses a method of forming that type of assembly.
