Abstract
Se presenta un material de recubrimiento para la protección de objetos subacuáticos tales como cascos de barco o tubería de toma de agua y similares. El recubrimiento incluye una matriz como, por ejemplo, un adhesivo o una pintura que contiene una substancia orgánica irritante tal como pimiento derivado del ají de cayena u oleorresina de pimiento, u otras substancias orgánicas irritantes para repeler los organismos marinos que pudieran fijarse sobre el objeto. El material de recubrimiento puede también combinarse con otros agentes repelentes conocidos.
