Abstract

Un sello de cara extrema mecánico a presión de diámetro interno que tienen una cara que se extiende radialmenteconfrontando la cara del otro anillo. Por lo menos uno de los anillos preferentemente el anillo rotatorio, tiene ranuras en espiral múltiples adyacentes a o que se extienden desde el diámetro interno del anillo, con lo cual la presión del fluido desde el diámetro interno conjuntamente con la fuerza centrifuga del anillo rotatorio expulsa cualquier fluido que se fugue desde el sello hacia afuera desde la cámara sellada con suficiente fuerza para impedir que contaminantes desde la parte exterior del área de interface del anillo de sello penetre en el sello. La estructura y el material que componen uno o ambos de los anillos proveen integridad estructural a cada anillo, permitiendo así que los anillos de sello presurizados de diámetro interno resistan las presiones del fluido hasta por lo menos 84 kg/cm². Preferentemente el material del anillo es un material compuesto plástico, tal como imida-poliamida.
