Abstract

Se describe un medio de impresión de seguridad para formar documentos de seguridad del mismo. El medio de impresión de seguridad comprende un sustrato de polímero transparente o translúcido que tiene primera y segunda superficies opuestas, y una pluralidad de capas opacificantes sobrepuestas dispuestas sobre la primera y/o segunda superficies del sustrato de polímero, cada una de las capas opacificantes que es una capa de material semi-opaco. En una primera región del sustrato una primera imagen multi-tonal se exhibe por la pluralidad de capas opacificantes sobrepuestas en combinación entre sí, cada una de la pluralidad de capas opacificantes sobrepuestas que tienen espacio(s) en el cual el material semi-opaco de la capa está ausente, el espacio(s) de cada capa que se define de acuerdo con una diferente sub-imagen respectiva, las sub-imágenes en combinación que definen la primera imagen multi-tonal. El número de capas opacificantes que se sobreponen entre sí en cualquier ubicación varía a través del sustrato, la variación resultante en la densidad óptica de la pluralidad de capas opacificantes sobrepuestas en combinación entre sí que da origen a los múltiples tonos de la primera imagen multi-tonal. El medio de impresión de seguridad además comprende una impresión de una segunda imagen multi-tonal, diferente de la primera imagen, sobre la primera y/o segunda superficies del sustrato de polímero en una segunda región y cubierto del punto de vista de un observador sobre un primer lado del medio de impresión de seguridad por la pluralidad de capas opacificantes que exhiben la primera imagen multi-tonal. La primera y segunda regiones por lo menos parcialmente que se sobreponen. Cuando el medio de impresión de seguridad se visualiza por el observador en luz reflejada, la primera imagen domina la apariencia del área(s) sobrepuesta de la primera y segunda regiones y cuando el medio de impresión de seguridad se visualiza por el observador en luz transmitida, la segunda imagen domina la apariencia del área(s) sobrepuesta de la primera y segunda regiones.
