Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a un sistema y un proceso para la acumulación de energía eléctrica que contiene un reactor electroquímico que comprende un compartimento electródico (3) que comprende hidrógeno molecular, un compartimento electródico (5) que comprende una fase líquida (a), un compartimento electródico (9) que comprende la fase líquida (b), una superficie catalítica (4) que comprende un electrocatalizador para la reacción de oxidación del hidrógeno, una superficie catalítica (10) que comprende un electrocatalizador para la reacción de reducción del agua y una membrana de intercambio iónico (8), donde el compartimento electródico (3) y el compartimento electródico (5) están separados entre sí por la superficie catalítica (4), el compartimento electródico (5) está separado a su vez del compartimento electródico (9) por la membrana de intercambio iónico (8) y el compartimento electródico (9) está en contacto por su extremo libre con la superficie catalítica (10).
