The present invention refers to a hydroponic system with supply of direct current for creating an electric field in the system while generating molecular oxygen by a system of graphite electrodes, said system accelerating the growth of plants for obtaining crops in a reduced period of time. The electric field promotes the migration of anions and cations to the electrodes, bringing the nutrients of the nutritive solution close to the root of the plant. The process may be considered as environmentally friendly, since it saves water and electric power consumption.
