Abstract

The present invention refers to an intelligent navigation system for visually impaired users, which is autonomous, non-invasive, of low energy consumption, including software with algorithms of vision, pattern recognition and character recognition, which comprises: an image acquisition unit or perception unit 20 useful for capturing the reality of the environment that surrounds the user and uses the device 100; a sensorial unit 40 for inferring the distances of the objects captured by the perception unit 20 while searching obstacles in the environment of the user 10; and a data processing unit 60 for processing the information received from the perception unit 20 and from the sensorial unit 40, the processing of the information consisting in calculating the vanishing point for the front portion, and starting a search of planes within a range of 1.54 m, which is the radius in which the visually impaired user has immediate interaction, being the most important radius for visually impair ed people as they run the risk of tripping.
