Abstract
Esta invención se relaciona a la gasificación de carbones bituminosos altos en ceniza que tienen temperaturas elevadas de fusión de ceniza. El contenido de ceniza puede estar en el rango porcentual en peso de 15 a 45 y las temperaturas de fusión de ceniza pueden estar en el rango de 1150°C a 1500°C así como en exceso de 1500°C. En una modalidad preferida, dichos carbones son tratados con un proceso de gasificación de dos etapas - un paso de gasificación primaria de temperatura relativamente baja en un gasificador de transporte de lecho fluidizado circulante seguido por un paso de oxidación parcial de alta temperatura de residuos de carbón y pequeñas cantidades de alquitrán. El sistema para procesar dichos carbones incluye además un lecho fluidizado internamente circulante para enfriar de manera efectiva el sintegas de alta temperatura con la ayuda de un medio inerte y sin que el sintegas haga contacto con las superficies de transferencia de calor.
