Abstract

The present invention refers to a process based on density measurement of crudes mixtures of heavy and light crudes at constant temperature and pressure, using the vibrating tube densimeter technique in order to determine the incompatibility in the crudes mixture containing asphaltenes; wherein the crudes mixture is preferably carried out at 10 to 22.3 DEG API and light crude of DEG API > 31.1, at a temperature of 293 to 423 K and pressure of 0.1 to 68.9 MPa. The crudes mixing process includes the procedure for determining the incipient point of asphaltenes incompatibility threshold in crudes mixture. The present invention uses a sample volume of 25 mL to measure the crudes mixture density and provides quick and reliable results with an uncertainty in the density measurement of 1 kg/m3.
