Abstract
Una composición de caucho de poliestireno modificado que incluye el producto de reacción formado por la polimerización de una mezcla de monómeros que contienen por lo menos el 75% de peso de uno o más monómeros aromáticos de monovinil en la presencia de partículas de caucho para formar una dispersión de las partículas de caucho en un polímero aromático de vinilo. Las partículas de caucho dispersas tienen un diámetro promedio de partícula de aproximadamente 6 a 10 micrones. La composición tiene un contenido de gel de aproximadamente un 28% a un 36% de peso. La composición tiene un índice superior de menos de 13 y contiene no más del 2% de peso de plastificantes. La composición actual puede ser utilizada como un material de revestimiento en refrigeradores. El material de revestimiento puede ser calibrado bajo mientras conserva las características deseables de desempeño.
