Abstract

The system for the monitoring and fault detection in current transformers proposed by the present invention comprises multiple measurement electrodes distributed along the active part of the current transformer located between the central conductor and the system for controlling the electric field. The electrodes are useful for obtaining the measurement and recording the parameters which allow the insulation state in different zones of transformer to be assessed, with the aim of locating evolving faults caused by moisture or degradation of the oil/paper insulation system. This system allow for the measurement of partial discharges, capacitance and electrical losses, among other parameters.
