Abstract

Se describen las modalidades que incluyen el rastreo y administración de activos. En una modalidad, un dispositivo de usuario final obtiene un identificador de usuario, un identificador de la unidad de rastreo, y un identificador de activo. El dispositivo de usuario final envía estos ítems a un servidor. Después de la recepción, el servidor verifica que el identificador de la unidad de rastreo sea válido, disponible y asignado al usuario. Cuando es verificado, el servidor asocia el identificador de la unidad de rastreo con el identificador de activo y el identificador del usuario, y marca el identificador de la unidad de rastreo aplicado. En otra modalidad más, es generado un código grupal. El código grupal especifica un identificador de unidad y un multiplicador. Después de la confirmación de que el código grupal fue apropiadamente generado y aplicado a un contenedor, los identificadores de unidad son generados para el grupo. En otra modalidad más, un registro de custodia es actualizado para indicar que un identificador del usuario, recibido, tiene ahora custodia de un identificador de rastreo, al tiempo que preserva una cadena previa de custodia del identificador de rastreo.
