Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a un método para la obtención de biodiesel a partir de aceite de núcleos de semillas de Thevetía peruviana que comprende las etapas de a) obtener el aceite a partir de los núcleos de las semillas; b) eliminar las partículas sólidas presentes en el aceite y posteriormente pasarlo a través de carbón activado, c) someter el aceite obtenido en la etapa b) a transesterificación alcalina en presencia de etanol a temperatura ambiente y d) recuperar el biodiesel obtenido, caracterizado porque la transesterificación consiste de las etapas de: i. Preparar un etóxido utilizando etanol y KOH como catalizador; ii. Mezclar el etóxido de la etapa i) con el aceite a un cociente molar 6:1 de alcohol a aceite a temperatura ambiente a 600 rpm por 5 minutos; iii. Transferir la mezcla resultante a un embudo de separación por 12 horas; iv. Lavar el biodiesel con agua desionizada; y v. Deshidratar en un horno a 100°C por 24 horas.
