Abstract
En un aspecto de las enseñanzas en la presente, un transmisor transmite señales de sincronización de acuerdo con una o más características de transmisión definidas que permiten que un receptor distinga el tipo de transmisor y/o el tipo de portadora utilizada para llevar las señales de sincronización. Los diferentes tipos de transmisores reutilizan al menos los mismos algoritmos de secuencias y generación de señal de sincronización, pero utilizan diferentes parámetros de transmisión para impartir una o más características reconocibles a las señales de sincronización transmitidas. A su vez, un receptor configurado de manera apropiada "conoce" qué características se asocian con qué tipos de transmisor y/o portadora. Por ejemplo, los dispositivos inalámbricos que operan en una red de comunicación inalámbrica transmiten señales de sincronización generadas por dispositivo que reutilizan al menos algunas de las mismas secuencias utilizadas por estaciones de base de red para la transmisión de señales de sincronización de red. Sin embargo, las señales de sincronización generadas por dispositivo se transmiten utilizando una colocación o mapeo relativo que difiere de manera característica de aquél utilizado por las señales de sincronización de red.
