Abstract

Se describe un sistema de lodo de polímero inhibidor a base de agua y método para usar el sistema en la perforación y en la estabilización de pozos de perforación para su uso en formaciones sensibles al agua, como alternativa a lodos a base de aceite. El sistema comprende una base de agua dulce o agua salada diluida o dispersa con un copolímero a base de poliamida, biodegradable, soluble en agua que tiene por lo menos una cadena lateral injertada formada a partir de compuestos etilénicos insaturados. Este sistema es eficaz y tiene reología estable en un amplio intervalo de pH, incluso a un pH cercano al neutro de 8.0. Los fluidos de perforación no contienen metales pesados y son reológicamente tolerantes a los contaminantes, tales como cemento, anhidrita y sodio y temperaturas tan altas como alrededor de 400°F (204°C).
