Abstract
The present invention refers to an orifice rheometer with a semi-hyperbolic profile and the operation process for measuring the extensional viscosity in liquids in a wide range of stretching deformations and temperatures in a range of from about 16°C to about 110°C, considering the shearing, extensional and inertial components of the liquid flow passing through a contraction which profile is semi-hyperbolic. The orifice rheometer with semi-hyperbolic profile allows the vortex effects to be removed over the pressure and volumetric flow drop when the rheological properties of the liquids are measured, also using a piston system instead of a pump for controlling the liquid to be analysed unlike in the previous art orifice rheometers.
