Abstract

The invention presents a device of intermittent pneumatic compression, which allows a hyperbaric oxygenation to be performed so as to increase the hyper-oxygenated blood flow to ulcers, wounds and chronic lacerations of the lower limbs, which consists in the manufacture of a compressive garment adapted to the anatomy of the lower limb, which combined with elements that trap oxygen, stimulates the venous return at high speed, developing a pressure graphic scientifically and specifically designed for this invention, thus obtaining an optimum oxygenation for the treatment of chronic wounds, ulcers and lacerations of the lower limbs and any other part of the body; in addition, the device has a compression system formed by chambers useful to generate the compression by pressure energy impulses (air) resulting from an external device and a plastic and sterilised oxygenation chamber specially designed for the contour of the limb to be treated, the limb receiving a continuous oxygen flow at l ow pressure (0 a 20 mm Hg), this chamber containing and applying pressurised oxygen to the affected area in a desired range from the resting pressure to the desired pressure 20 to 100 mm Hg over the atmospheric pressure in an alternate and quick manner and for a short period of time (for not causing a capillary circulation blocking), the pressure being controlled according to the severity (pain) of the wound.
