Abstract
The present invention is to execute precise reprinting of a mark in a processing line different from a processing line in which printing has been carried out. A metal strip is subjected to processing in a plurality of processing lines. The present invention comprises: a step for printing a defect mark (K) on a metal strip, in a first processing line; a step for printing a plurality of reference marks (S) aligned at equal intervals along the longitudinal direction of the metal strip, in the first processing line or a processing line upstream from the first processing line; in a downstream second processing line, a step for cutting a metal strip portion to which a first position identification mark has been applied, and after the cutting step, a step for reprinting the defect mark (K) on the metal strip in the same position in the longitudinal direction as the position of the defect mark (K); and in the second processing line, a step for detecting at least one of the plurality of reference marks (S) before applying the defect mark (K), and correcting tracking information for applying the defect mark (K) on the basis of position information for the detected reference mark.
