Abstract

Un sistema de cómputo en la nube que administra dinámicamente la asignación de nodos de infraestructura y nodos de ejecución en una zona de borde del sistema de cómputo en la nube. La zona de borde comienza con un primer número de nodos de infraestructura y un segundo número de nodos de ejecución. A medida que la zona de borde ejecuta cargas de trabajo del cliente, el sistema de cómputo en la nube determina si los nodos de infraestructura están sobre utilizados o infrautilizados. Cuando los nodos de infraestructura están infrautilizados, el sistema de cómputo en la nube reasigna un nodo de infraestructura a los nodos de ejecución. Cuando los nodos de infraestructura están sobre utilizados, el sistema de cómputo en la nube reasigna un nodo de ejecución a los nodos de infraestructura. De esta forma, el sistema de cómputo en la nube mantiene dinámicamente un equilibrio óptimo entre recursos dedicados a soportar la zona de borde (los nodos de infraestructura) y recursos dedicados a ejecutar cargas de trabajo del cliente (los nodos de ejecución). En otras palabras, el sistema de cómputo en la nube maximiza continuamente el uso de recursos de la zona de borde para ejecutar las cargas de trabajo del cliente mientras mantiene la infraestructura necesaria.
