Abstract

La presente divulgación proporciona un sistema de catéter que incluye una pluralidad de fenestraciones a lo largo del eje del catéter, en donde las fenestraciones permiten la infusión continua o intermitente de antisépticos y/o antibióticos para evitar y tratar la colonización bacteriana o infección del tracto subcutáneo y minimizar la colonización del túnel subcutáneo y la vaina de fibrina en pacientes sintomáticos o asintomáticos. El presente sistema de catéter también puede incluir un componente abrasivo removible en la punta de los catéteres para ayudar con el desbridamiento del tracto subcutáneo y vaina de fibrina intravascular.
