Abstract
Un sistema y método para remover nitrógeno del gas natural usando dos columnas de fraccionamiento, que se pueden apilar, y una pluralidad de separadores e intercambiadores de calor, con requisitos de potencia que son 50 - 80 % de los requisitos para los sistemas del estado de la técnica. Las columnas de fraccionamiento operan a diferentes presiones. Una corriente de alimentación se separa con una porción de vapor que alimenta la primera columna para producir una corriente de fondos de primera columna que se divide en múltiples porciones a diferentes presiones y una corriente de componentes de parte alta de primera columna que se divide o separa en dos porciones, al menos una de las cuales se subenfría antes de alimentar la parte superior de la segunda columna. El intercambio de calor opcional entre las corrientes de primera columna y segunda columna proporciona reflujo de primera columna y calor de re-ebullición para una corriente de vapor ascendente de segunda columna. Se producen tres corrientes de gas de ventas, cada uno a una presión diferente.
