Abstract
La presente descripción proporciona un método y un aparato para proporcionar aislamiento eléctrico mediante el uso de un convertidor que comprende un primer convertidor que funciona en un modo rectificador que recibe corriente CA y proporciona corriente CC, un segundo convertidor que funciona en un modo inversor que recibe dicha corriente CC de dicho primer convertidor y proporciona corriente CA, un transformador que recibe dicha corriente CA de dicho segundo convertidor que tiene una entrada y una salida, dicho transformador proporciona aislamiento eléctrico entre dicha entrada y salida, un tercer convertidor que funciona en un modo rectificador que recibe corriente CA de dicho transformador y proporciona corriente CC, en donde al menos uno de dicho primer, segundo y tercer convertidores es un convertidor multinivel.
