Abstract

Provided are: method and apparatus for manufacturing hot-dip metal-plated steel sheets, wherein the variation in plating weight between the front and back surfaces of hot-dip metal-plated steel sheets can be reduced. In a method and apparatus for manufacturing hot-dip metal-plated steel sheets according to the present invention, the warped shape of a steel sheet S is corrected in a non-contact manner by applying a magnetic force in a direction crossing the front and back surfaces of the steel sheet S by means of a plurality of electromagnets 5 arranged on both the front and back surfaces of the steel sheet S along the width direction of the steel sheet S in at least one position above and below a gas throttle device 4, the plating weight on each of the front and back surfaces of the steel sheet S is measured by a plating weight-measuring meter 11 installed downstream of a plating bath 2, and the shape of the corrected steel sheet S is adjusted by controlling the current value of each of the plurality of electromagnets 5 so as to reduce the variation in plating weight between the front and back surfaces of the steel sheet S.
