Abstract

Los aspectos de la invención se refieren a una caja de cartón expandible (90) que puede abrirse desde un estado cerrado que tiene una primera capacidad, a un estado abierto que tiene una segunda capacidad mayor, de modo que se puede cargar hielo u otros artículos adicionales en la caja de cartón expandida junto con los artículos originales alojados en la misma. La caja de cartón (90) comprende: una pared superior (12), una pared inferior (16), una primera pared lateral (14) y una segunda pared lateral (18) unidas de forma articulada entre sí para formar una estructura tubular. La caja de cartón (90) comprende adicionalmente una primera pared de extremo (22a, 24a, 26a, 28a) y una segunda pared de extremo (22b, 24b, 26b, 28b), cada una de dichas paredes de extremo (22a, 24a, 26a, 28a; 22b, 24b, 26b, 28b) para encerrar un extremo abierto de la estructura tubular de la caja de cartón.
