Abstract

En un método para medir la humedad en el maíz, una mazorca de maíz se acopla operativamente a un medidor de humedad, y se determina una cantidad de humedad mientras la mazorca de maíz crece en una planta de maíz; el medidor de humedad puede usar una espectrometría para determinar la cantidad de humedad en el maíz; un medidor de humedad incluye una interfaz de maíz configurada para acoplar en forma correspondiente la mazorca de maíz cuando se presiona contra la mazorca de maíz, de manera de formar un sello óptico alrededor de una abertura a través de la cual el espectrómetro determina la cantidad de humedad en el maíz, a fin de evitar que la luz ambiental pase entre la interfaz de maíz y la mazorca de maíz hacia la por lo menos una abertura.
