Abstract
Métodos y sistemas para modelar la construcción de tuberías incluyen o implementan los pasos de (a) obtener datos de determinación de distancia de un sitio de construcción de tubería que incluye un tubo, (b) procesar los datos de determinación de distancia para producir una nube de puntos espacialmente organizada, y (c) procesar la nube de puntos para identificar por lo menos una característica geométrica que comprende un punto o una característica bidimensional representativa del eje central del tubo y asociar la al menos una característica geométrica con el sitio de construcción de la tubería. Los datos de determinación de distancia pueden ser datos obtenidos de un dispositivo LiDAR. La construcción de la tubería puede ser una construcción subterránea, donde el tubo es colocado en una zanja. La información relevante, tal como la profundidad de cobertura, puede ser calculada a partir de características geométricas identificadas. La información relevante puede ser determinada en tiempo real o en tiempo casi real y mostrada, comunicada o registrada según se desee.
