Abstract
Se divulga un método de codificación de video que utiliza el proceso de división de bloque incluyendo un proceso de división de árbol binario; el proceso de división de bloque es aplicado a un bloque de datos de video para dividir el bloque en sub-bloques finales; el proceso de codificación comprende el proceso de predicción, proceso de transformada o ambos para el bloque que será aplicado en el nivel de sub-bloques finales; el proceso de división de árbol binario se puede aplicar a un bloque determinado en forma recursiva para generar nodos hoja de árbol binario hasta que se cumple con una condición de terminación; en otra modalidad, se aplica el proceso de división de árbol cuaternario a un bloque primero; los nodos hoja de árbol cuaternario son divididos adicionalmente utilizando el proceso de división de árbol binario; el proceso de división de árbol cuaternario se puede aplicar a un bloque determinado en forma recursiva para generar nodos hoja de árbol cuaternario hasta que se cumple con una condición de terminación.
