Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a un método para endurecer la superficie de un objeto de ferroaleación, en donde el método comprende gasificar por lo menos parcialmente, un polímero que contiene carbono para formar una fuente de material de endurecimiento; y exponer el objeto a la fuente de material de endurecimiento, de tal modo que la fuente de material de endurecimiento y la superficie del objeto reaccionen, endureciendo de esta manera la superficie del objeto.
