Abstract
The present invention relates to a method for producing a data storage medium, wherein the data storage medium has a first geometric shape 16, wherein the data storage medium having the first geometric shape 16 is produced from a support 2 by virtue of the support 2 being removed in at least one region along the first geometric shape 16 of the data storage medium, so that the data storage medium remains connected to the support 2 by means of at least one crosspiece 22, wherein the data storage medium having the first geometric shape 16 can be broken out from the support 2 by breaking the at least one crosspiece 22, wherein the method is distinguished in that at least one smaller, second geometric shape 18 of the data storage medium is punched inside the first geometric shape 16 of the data storage medium, so that the data storage medium having the smaller, second shape 18 can be broken out from the larger, first shape 16, wherein the data storage medium having the smaller, second shape 18, after having been broken out from the larger, first shape 16, can be inserted back into the larger, first shape 16 in order to be used as a data storage medium having a larger, first shape 16 after the larger, first shape 16 has been broken out from the support 2.
