La materia de la presente invención es un dispositivo (3) para proteger un sensor óptico (13) de un sistema de asistencia del conductor (1) para un vehículo motorizado, el sensor óptico (13) comprende una óptica (14), y el dispositivo protector (3) incluye: - un elemento óptico (9) que está configurado para colocarse ascendente de la óptica (14) del sensor óptico (13) y montado para poderse mover alrededor de un eje de rotación (A1); y - un accionador (5) que está configurado para girar el elemento óptico (9), caracterizado porque el dispositivo protector (3) además incluye: - al menos un componente de calentamiento (7) que está configurado para calentar el elemento óptico (9) para desempañar o descongelar este elemento óptico (9); y - un sistema de inducción (8) que está configurado para suministrar energía al componente de calentamiento (7).
