Abstract

A joint compound container including a base member (12) having a sidewall (14) and a bottom wall (16) defining an interior space with an open top end where a surface of the sidewall includes an indicator (30). A cover (34) is attached to the top end of the base member and a designated amount of base compound (22) is stored in the interior space of the base member. In use, the cover is removed from the base member and water (21) is added into the interior space of the base member until a level of the water reaches the indicator.
