Abstract
Described as a method for recovering lithium from clay, which comprises: (a) providing a quantity of clay that has a content of muscovite and sanidine clay; (b) separating the clay particles that have a particle size of less than 20 Ám, preferably by means of sieving or magnetic separation; (c) leaching said particulate material with acid, preferably sulphuric acid; and (d) obtaining a quantity of leached lithium.
