Abstract
The present invention relates to a process for desalination of water by an improved membrane distillation process with airspace (AGMD). Said process possesses two stages of evaporation assisted by a stream of microbubbles that favor evaporation, thus decreasing the thermal load necessary to reach the operating conditions. Also, it consists of two stages of hot saline evaporation with the aid of a plate condenser and two dehumidifiers that condense and recover the generated steam passing through the hydrophobic membranes forming a permeate current with lower salt content.
