Abstract
Un método para deshidratar una corriente de gas de hidrocarburos comprende extraer agua de una corriente de desecante líquido usando una porción de la corriente de gas insaturada en agua, secar la corriente de gas para retirar el agua extraída y después secar adicionalmente la corriente de gas parcialmente seca usando el desecante para lograr un bajo nivel de contenido de agua en la corriente de gas para el transporte por tuberías. En una modalidad, el desecante líquido es suministrado por una instalación de regeneración en una ubicación remota y el desecante líquido se regresa a la instalación de regeneración para la regeneración después de secar el gas. En otra modalidad, la regeneración del desecante se realiza localmente por lo que el desecante líquido es, después de secar el gas, extraído de nuevo de agua y reutilizado localmente.
