Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a un fruto de pepino partenocárpico (Cucumis sativus L.) con una pequeña cavidad seminal. Un fruto de pepino partenocárpico (Cucumis sativus L.) con una cavidad seminal reducida tiene un contenido de humedad total reducido. Se han identificado dos QTL que ya sea solos o en combinación producen el fenotipo de tener una pequeña cavidad seminal. La invención además se refiere a una planta de pepino que comprende uno de los QTL o una combinación de ambos QTL, cuya planta de pepino es capaz de producir frutos partenocárpicos con una pequeña cavidad seminal. La invención también se refiere a marcadores para identificar los QTL.
