Abstract

The present invention relates to the diagnosis of trichomonas’s and virulence of Trichomonas Vaginalis parasite isolates by qualitative-quantitative determination of cysteine ??protease 2 (TvCP2). Also, it discloses its role in the virulence of the parasite expressed as higher cytotoxicity on the host cells is under unfavorable environmental conditions. Further, it aims to provide the fluctuations in glucose and iron concentrations describing the consequences of such factors on TvCP2 (localization, expression levels), thus allowing using it as a virulence marker. In addition, its immunogenicity is verified an essential condition for use in immunodiagnostics and as a marker of infection regardless of its stage.
