Abstract
The present invention aims to propose a process for obtaining three polymeric component materials with orientated variable composition, synthesized by sequential copolymerizations in a semi-continuous reactor with a feed-gradient. The present invention is based on the premise that different paths have been used to optimize the contribution of each component in two-monomer systems to form copolymers since the structures thereof strongly influence the composition of the A-B type chains that allows forming by reacting. Said situation is further complicated for three components if specific sequences are required since the possible number of growth reactions increases (9 for terpolymers, instead of 4 for copolymers). The present invention presents a way to force the relative content of the components into high molecular weight chains with traditional radical reactions by a semi-continuous process with a feed-gradient, wherein the vinyl comonomers are sequentially fed by pairs (A-B and B-C) , thus promoting the formation of A-rich chains, B-rich chains, and C-rich chains, as well as a certain amount of copolymer chains A-B and B-C covering the spectrum of intermediates which act as compatibilizers. With such a strategy a synergistic conjunction of properties in the final material enables its achievement.
