Abstract

The present disclosure is related to compositions or formulations for the disinfection of inert surfaces contaminated with bacteria that is resistant or not to antibiotics. The described formulations contain compounds derived from two plants, the Hibiscus sabdariffa chalices and Artemisia ludoviciana, which can act on their own or in combination with other disinfectants, such as organic acids and surfactants. The compositions of the present invention are capable of eliminating or inactivating bacteria that is resistant to antibiotics, including pathogenic bacteria from all types of surfaces, preferably from inert surfaces; more particularly to formulations containing acetone extract and hibiscus acid from the Hibiscus sabdariffa chalices, ethyl acetate extract from Artemisia ludoviciana, peracetic acid and sodium dodecyl sulfate; to compositions with antimicrobial activity, to the method by which they are obtained and their uses as an effective formulation to eliminate bacteria resistant or not to antibiotics from all types of inert surfaces in the pharmaceutical and food industry, hospitals, schools, work areas and in homes.
