Abstract

A piece of furniture (10f,10g, 10h) includes a rectangular frame (12, 12b) for supporting a plurality of sinuous springs (20). A plurality of clip assemblies (18f, 18g, 18h) are secured to opposed side walls ( 14) of frame (12, 12b). Each clip assembly (18f, 18g, 18h) comprises a metallic piece (24f, 24g, 24h) having a generally planar portion (44f, 44g, 44h) and tacks (42f, 42g, 42h) for insertion into the frame (12, 12b). The generally planar portion (44f, 44g, 44h) of the metallic piece (24f, 24g, 24h) is encased by plastic of a non-metallic piece (22f, 22g, 22h) having a hook (26f, 26g, 26h) to secure one end of a sinuous wire (20). Flexible connectors (38) may be located in grooves (36f, 36h) of the clip assembly (18f, 18h) to collate multiple clip assemblies (18f, 18h).
