Abstract

Un contenedor ventilado para productos alimenticios incluye un fondo, paredes laterales que se extienden de forma ascendente desde el fondo y un borde que tiene una superficie superior aplanada; las paredes laterales incluyen al menos una abertura de ventilación ubicada próxima al borde del contenedor, permitiendo por tanto que el borde del contenedor sea generalmente plano e ininterrumpido; la ubicación de la o las aberturas de ventilación próximas al borde del contenedor permite el flujo de gas etileno creciente dentro del contenedor para salir cerca de la parte superior del contenedor mejorando la ventilación dentro del contenedor; se puede aplicar una película plástica sobre la parte superior del contenedor y se adhiere al contenedor con un adhesivo para formar un sello seguro y rígido entre la película y el contenedor; la superficie aplanada del borde mejora la adherencia entre una película y el contenedor para encerrar y sellar el contenedor, ayuda en la rigidez del contenedor, y disminuye la probabilidad de que los extremos del borde se doblen o plieguen cuando se ejerce presión para proteger productos alimenticios proporcionados dentro del contenedor; además, una abertura sobre el fondo del contenedor proporciona drenaje de líquido del contenedor y permite que el aire fluya.
