Un método de inspección de vehículos que comprende: adquirir un número de identificación único de un vehículo inspeccionado; realizar un escaneo por rayos X en el vehículo inspeccionado para obtener una imagen de rayos X del vehículo inspeccionado; recuperar, de una base de datos de inspección histórica, al menos una imagen de inspección historia relacionada con el número de identificación único; determinar una imagen de inspección histórica en dicha al menos una imagen de inspección histórica como una imagen de plantilla con base en un algoritmo de selección de imagen de plantilla seleccionado a partir de múltiples algoritmos de selección de imagen de plantilla; determinar un área de cambio entre la imagen de rayos X y la imagen de la plantilla; y presentar el área de cambio a un usuario. También se describe un sistema asociado de inspección de vehículos.
