Abstract
En una modalidad, se divulga un dispositivo auto-adaptable y un método para reducir la energía utilizada en conexión con la operación de un sensor de contacto en un dispositivo sensible al tacto. El sensor de contacto incluye una pluralidad de filas y una pluralidad de columnas, un generador de señales para generar señales en las filas y un procesador de señales táctiles para detectar eventos de contacto a partir de señales táctiles presentes en las columnas. Al menos dos estados de energía se definen para un sensor de contacto, en donde al menos uno de dichos al menos dos estados de energía está asociado con una primera sensibilidad operativa del sensor de contacto y al menos otro de los estados de energía está asociado con la sensibilidad operativa mitigada del sensor de contacto. Las señales asociadas con el estado de energía de sensibilidad operativa mitigada se generan en al menos algunas de las filas. Un evento de contacto se detecta mediante el procesamiento de al menos una señal táctil en al menos una columna, y en respuesta a ello, generar señales asociadas con el primer estado de energía de sensibilidad operativa en por lo menos algunas de las filas.
