Abstract
Un embrague viscoso de ventilador refrigerado por líquido transmite par desde un plato de accionamiento accionado por un cigüeñal del motor a un plato accionado conectado a un ventilador de refrigeración. El calor generado en un fluido de trabajo se transmite a un segundo fluido, tal como refrigerante del motor o fluido de la transmisión, que fluye a través de una camisa de refrigeración. La camisa de refrigeración está ubicada en una carcasa inmóvil que puede estar fija al motor. El fluido de trabajo circula a través de una zona de trabajo, de un pasaje en la carcasa inmóvil y de un pasaje en el plato accionado. El giro del plato accionado proporciona la fuerza motriz para hacer circular el fluido. Una válvula controlable se puede cerrar para bloquear la circulación y atrapar el fluido de trabajo en un depósito para desengranar el embrague.
