The present invention relates to a means for producing refrigerant vapor for an absorption unit which allows operating in three different ways: only using the solar energy, only using gas energy thus allowing the equipment to function even when there is no solar energy availability, and in a hybrid form for when the solar energy alone is not sufficient to achieve the evaporation of the refrigerant. This invention aims to propose a hybrid solar-gas generator for absorption units, thereby using renewable energy sources, such as solar energy, as well as using combustible gas, thus allowing to operate in a hybrid form, i.e., with solar energy and fuel gas. The features described above offers a suitable option for use in absorption cooling units.
