Abstract

The present disclosure is related to a food dehydrator using renewable energy that performs the drying operation to dehydrate products such as food, by means of a hot air flow, capable of performing a drying operation by means of a hot air flow indirectly heated through a heat exchanger where a thermal fluid circulates capturing and storing solar energy, complementing the heating energy supply with an auxiliary heating system; for example, when the solar radiation decreases by cloudiness or during the night. The auxiliary heating system for the thermal fluid may be by means of a combustion heater using fuel preferably obtained from renewable sources, or an electric resistor system immersed into the thermal fluid. The electrical supply required by the resistors and other electrical devices needed by the dehydrator, is generated by a solar photovoltaic system.
