Abstract
An anti-vibration connecting rod (10) is configured in such a manner that a rod body (16) for connecting a first anti-vibration bush (18) and a second anti-vibration bush (20) is configured by affixing a first metallic plate (34) and a second metallic plate (36) to each other by staking. The first metallic plate (34) is provided with first staking sections (50) for gripping the peripheral edge of the second metallic plate (36). The first staking sections (50) are provided in such a manner that the first staking sections (50) sandwich the centerline (C) connecting the first inner cylinder (22) of the first anti-vibration bush (18) and the second inner cylinder (28) of the second anti-vibration bush (20), and in such a manner that one of the first staking sections (50) is provided at a position which does not cause the one of the first staking sections (50)and the other of the first staking sections (50) to be line-symmetric to each other about the centerline (C) which is the axis of symmetry. The second metallic plate (36) is provided with second staking sections (52) for gripping the peripheral edge of the first metallic plate (34) and has the same shape as the first metallic plate (34). As a result of this configuration, the anti-vibration connecting rod can be manufactured at low cost using the two metallic plates having the same shape.
