Abstract

De acuerdo a esta invención, se proporciona un método de procesamiento de material tal como desecho orgánicamente recubierto y materiales orgánicos que incluyen biomasa, desechos industriales, desechos sólidos y lodos municipales, el método comprende: acoplar un cartucho recipiente de material (12) que contiene material que va a ser procesado, a una cámara de procesamiento (14); calentar el material en una atmósfera reducida en oxígeno en la cámara de procesamiento (14) para producir gas; canalizar el gas proveniente de la cámara de procesamiento (14) hacia una cámara de tratamiento (20) en la cual ésta es calentada para destruir cualesquiera compuestos orgánicos volátiles en el mismo; recircular el gas desde la cámara de tratamiento (20) hacia la cámara de procesamiento (14) ; y en un primer modo de operación, modificar el contenido de humedad del gas que recircula desde la cámara de tratamiento (20) hacia la cámara de procesamiento (14), al hacerlo pasar a través de un segundo cartucho recipiente de material (28, 30) que contiene el material (50) que va a ser procesado.
